Howard County Volunteer of the Year 2012
Howard County Executive Ken Ulman, the Howard County Council and the Volunteer Center Service Howard County are seeking nomination for the 2012 “Volunteer of the Year” Awards program. This annual program recognizes people, agencies and groups that have demonstrated commitment and dedication to making our community a better place. Deadline for nominations is Friday, September 7.
Nominations are being accepted for:
- Individual Youth (18 & Under)
- Individual Adult (Over 18)
- Non-profit Organization or Governmental Agency (recognizing non-profit or governmental agencies successfully engaging and managing volunteers)
- For-profit or Community Group (recognizing for-profit businesses or community groups providing volunteer support to local non-profit or governmental agencies)
To be Eligible: Nominees must be either residents of Howard County or do their volunteer work in Howard County. Their efforts should have a significant impact on an individual or the community; for individual nominations, the nominated service must be performed outside the scope of the nominee’s paid employment.
Endorsement Forms: Nominators may also submit up to two additional endorsements from other individuals or organizations familiar with the nominee’s volunteer contributions.
Nomination and endorsement forms may be completed and submitted online OR printed, completed and submitted via e-mail (voy@howardcountymd.gov), mail (Howard County Volunteer of the Year, Attn: Alexandra Bresani, Office of Public Information, 3430 Courthouse Drive, Ellicott City, MD 21043) or fax (410-313-3390).
Nomination forms must be postmarked by Friday, September 7.
All nominees will be recognized at a ceremony and reception on Wednesday, October 3 at 7 p.m. in the Banneker Room of the George Howard Building, 3430 Courthouse Drive in Ellicott City. The event is free and open to the public.
