Target populations identified at greater risk for complications from H1N1 are strongly encouraged to be vaccinated. The CDC also recommends that all others wanting protection against the H1N1 and Seasonal flu be vaccinated too. Remember, the flu season does not end until May, so there is still time to get vaccinated. The CDC target groups include:

    • Pregnant women
    • People who live with or care for children younger than 6 months of age
    • Young people between the ages of six months and 24 years old
    • People ages of 25 through 64 years of age who are at higher risk because of chronic health problems or weakened immune systems
    • Healthcare and emergency medical services personnel
