TRIAD consist of a three-way effort among the Sheriff’s Office, Howard County Department of Police and the Howard County Office on Aging who have agreed to work together to reduce the criminal victimization of older citizens, and to enhance law enforcement services to this population. The program focuses on reducing unwarranted fear of crime and improving the quality of life for seniors.
Through the TRIAD program, the Sheriff’s Office also offers free cellular phones to seniors for the purpose of unrestricted 911 emergency use.
The group holds monthly meetings and crime prevention presentations on various topics at the Bain Senior Center (5470 Ruth Keaton Way in Columbia).
