Adult Public Guardianship Review Board

Function:  

The board reviews situations of disabled persons under public agency guardianship. The board is advisory to the court and makes recommendations to the court to continue, modify, or terminate guardianship.

Number of Members: 11  

One representative of Department of Social Services, one representative of Commission on Aging, two physicians; including one psychiatrist from a local health department, one lawyer, one public health nurse, two lay persons, one representative from a local non-profit Social Services organization, one professional in the field of disabilities, and one person with a physical disability.

County Executive appoints. County Council confirms.

Meetings:  

Quarterly, the first Thursday of February, May, August, and November at 8:30 am. Meetings are closed to the public and held at the Department of Social Services or as they designate.
