Thursday, April 24

Astronomy Nature Special Events School’s Out: $3 Fun at Robinson - 9 AM to 5 PM. All ages. School is out, so come enjoy our permanent exhibits, 1 mile of trails and the children’s Discovery Room. You can add additional fun activities including full-dome movies, scavenger hunts and a chance to win raffle prizes from our nature gift shop. $3 per activity with Robinson annual pass or daily admission. Purchase any of the above activities at the front desk (no preregistration necessary). Children must be accompanied by an adult.  

 Nature Special Events School’s Out: Scout Day - see program times below. Ages 6 years and up. School is out, so get your troop together and fulfill requirements to earn an achievement or a badge. Bears accomplish their “Share Your World with Wildlife” Achievement. Brownies meet requirements to earn their Bug badge. $20, scout member; $15, scout member (group rate).  Special Events Leave your Mark! Art Tile Project - 10 - 11:30 AM. Ages 3 years and up. Children must be accompanied by an adult. You and/or your child create original art work for a tile which will be installed inside the Center's main building. Proceeds support Friends of the Nature Center projects, including scholarships for Title 1 school field trips and an outdoor nature play space at the Nature Center. 1 tile for $35 or 3 tiles for $100. Friday, April 25

Nature Special Events NEW! Adult Flashlight Egg Hunt - 8 to 10 PM. Ages 18 years and up. If you enjoyed watching the kids hunt for Easter eggs, don’t feel left out! Bring your date or a group of friends and get active in nature as you join us for an adult, nighttime egg hunt using flashlights and your wits at the Robinson Nature Center. Hundreds of eggs full of raffle tickets and/or small prizes lie hidden, awaiting your discovery. Collect as many as you can for chances to win gift cards and other fantastic nature-themed prizes. Thanks to our many sponsors (below) for making the spring egg hunt a blast. Space is limited. Preregister to secure your spot. $12 per individual; $20 per couple.

Nature Special Events NEW! Native Plant Palooza - Noon to 4:30 PM. Ages 12 years and up. Feel good about your garden or yard this year by purchasing native plants from a host of vendors with a portion of proceeds from the sale benefiting educational programs at the Nature Center. Special guest speakers provide information on the “how to’s” of using natives. See www.howardcountymd.gov/RNCplantnative.htm for details on speakers and other activities. The plant sale will be accessible without admission to the Nature Center. All other activities require admission. No registration necessary. Children must be accompanied by an adult.
