Police Officer Certified

The Police Officer Certified is for all certified Police officers who work for a full service department and have two years or more experience. Police Officer Certified attend a four week comparitive compliance training at the Howard County Police Department's Education and Training Division Facility. Howard County Police seek ambitious certified Police Officers who want to be a part of one of the most progressive and nationally accredited and community oriented police departments in the nation.

20 years of service-50%
25 years of service-75%
30 years of service-80%
8.3% night shift differential
Three hour minimum O/T pay for off-duty court appearances
Specialty pay for certain assignments
Take home vehicles for in-county residents (When available)

Qualifications

For consideration, candidates must certified as a Police Officer and two years of experience in a full service police department.

Successful candidates must pass a polygraph examination; a comprehensive background investigation; and psychological and pre-placement physical evaluations.
