WOMEN'S HEALTH

The Howard County Health Department provides a variety of Women's Health Services to include various confidential and preventative health care for women and adolescents. Weekly family planning clinics are based on a sliding fee scale and are available by appointment. Eligible pregnant women are encouraged to apply to WIC.

Services provided at no charge include

• pregnancy testing for clients under 20 years of age
• HIV testing and counseling
• sexually transmitted disease diagnosis and treatment
• emergency contraception
• pap screening and abnormal pap follow-up
• health education
• breast exams and mammograms income eligible women over forty years of age
