Howard County to Hold Public Meeting on North Laurel Road Improvements
ELLICOTT CITY, MD – Howard County’s Department of Public Works has established Capital Project J-4176 to improve the sight distance of motorists along North Laurel Road between Washington Avenue and Park Avenue in Laurel. In response, the Department will hold an informal public meeting on Thursday, August 9 from 5:30 p.m. to 7:30 p.m. in the Multi-Purpose Conference Room II at the North Laurel Community Center, 9411 Whiskey Bottom Road in Laurel to discuss the project.
The project includes the flattening of the hump in the road so motorists are able to see farther along North Laurel Road. While the meeting includes no formal presentation, the public is invited to stop by and review the construction plans. Staff will also be on hand to explain the construction design and answer any questions, as well as take suggestions for adjustments to the plans.
The plans may also be reviewed at the office of the Transportation and Special Projects Division, Bureau of Engineering, during normal working hours, 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. Those interested in viewing the materials are asked to contact the Project Manager, Abeye Girma, at 410-313-6143 to set up a time.
