2nd Turn Lane to be Added at Entrance to HCC off Little Patuxent Parkway

Additional lane will ease traffic congestion

ELLICOTT CITY, MD – A County construction project to install a second left turn lane on Little Patuxent Parkway at the entrance to Howard Community College (HCC) is scheduled to begin on or about Monday, June 18. The project will increase capacity for vehicles waiting to turn left into HCC’s main entrance from westbound Little Patuxent Parkway and will coincide the widening of HCC’s entrance. Weather permitting, the project is expected to be completed in mid-July.

The existing left lane on westbound Little Patuxent Parkway is expected to be closed throughout the project, with the lane closure occurring Monday through Friday, from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. The main entrance to HCC will also be closed while the College widens the roadway. Flagging operations will be in place to direct traffic as needed and signs will be posted to advise motorists of the construction and any detours.
