Howard County’s Office on Aging Presents “WomenFest”

4th Annual Wellness Event for Women

ELLICOTT CITY, MD – The Howard County Department of Citizen Services’ Office on Aging is pleased to present the fourth annual WomenFest, a wellness event for women, on Saturday, June 16 from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. at the Gary J. Arthur Community Center, 2400 Route 97 in Cooksville. Moved to the weekend, by popular demand, WomenFest is an interactive day that focuses on health, wellness, fashion and beauty, and is designed to inspire women to live more balanced, healthier and fuller lives. Admission is free.

WomenFest features health screenings, workshops, seminars, a wide variety of vendors and exhibitors, and food. There will be free blood pressure, body mass index, dental, foot health, osteoporosis, glucose, cholesterol, glaucoma, vein and HIV screenings available. Health experts will be on hand to offer guidance on nutrition, fall prevention, and women’s wellness. Health seminars will include topics like: All the Best for Your Breasts; Cool Tips for Hot Flashes; and Power of Caring for Yourself. Other seminar topics include Get the Look for Less; The Benefits of Wine & Chocolate; Spice It Up! Cooking with Herbs; and more.

Free entertainment will be held throughout the day including an outdoor concert by Howard County blues and jazz musician, Deanna Bogart. Town Grill of Lisbon will offer fresh menu options for purchase, and attendees will have the opportunity to shop and visit more than 60 vendors and exhibitors offering products and services of interest to women.
