The Design Advisory Panel (DAP) reviews development, redevelopment and construction projects within the US Route 1 and Route 40 Corridors, New Town Village Centers, Downtown Columbia and age restricted adult housing that requires a conditional use permit.
Purpose: To improve design compatibility with surrounding development, to promote revitalization, and to enhance property values, the DAP process encourages excellence in the project’s architecture and site design.
Meetings are held at 7:30 p.m. on the second and fourth Wednesdays of each month at 3430 Court House Drive, Ellicott City, MD 21043. Applications must be received no later than 5:00 p.m. at least 20 days prior to the scheduled meeting to be placed on the agenda. Property Posting: At least 15 calendar days before the scheduled DAP meeting, applicants must post their properties with a sign. Photographs of the posting must be sent to the DAP Executive Secretary within 3 calendar days of posting the property.
