All hearings are scheduled and held at the County's Temporary Offices at 8930 Stanford Boulevard, Columbia, Maryland 21045.
Agricultural Land Preservation Board | Agenda | Schedule | | Joy Levy, Administrator - 410-313-5407 | Mary Smith, Administrative Support - 410-313-4352 The Board makes recommendations to the County Executive on the acquisition of agricultural land preservation easements and reviews proposals concerning land subject to an agricultural land preservation easement. As a matter of practice, the Board meets monthly at the Howard County Fairgrounds. The meetings of the Board are open to the public. The decision of the Board is determined by a majority vote (four votes) except a recommendation to acquire an easement requires five affirmative votes.

The Design Advisory Panel (DAP) reviews development, redevelopment and construction projects within the US Route 1 and Route 40 Corridors, New Town Village Centers and Downtown Columbia, and age restricted adult housing that requires a conditional use permit. Purpose: To improve design compatibility with surrounding development, to promote revitalization, and to enhance property values, the DAP process encourages excellence in the project’s architecture and site design. Meetings are held at 7:30 p.m. on the second and fourth Wednesdays of each month at 8930 Stanford Blvd., Columbia, MD. Applications must be received no later than 5:00 p.m. at least 20 days prior to the scheduled meeting to be placed on the agenda.
