The Loading Dock trailer at the Alpha Ridge Landfill Convenience Area will be temporarily closed due to a roof collapse. Please visit www.loadingdock.org or call 410-558-3625 for alternate drop-off locations.
January 22, 2010 - Curbside Yardwaste Collection Ends
Curbside recycling of yardwaste and Christmas trees will end on January 22, 2010. Residents may bring yardwaste material and Christmas trees to the Alpha Ridge Landfill Wood Waste Area for recycling.
April 1, 2010 - Curbside Yardwaste Collection Resumes
Curbside recycling of yardwaste will resume on April 1, 2010. Those residents in Howard County that receive yardwaste collection may place yard items at the curb on their normal recycling day. Please note that a separate truck picks up yardwaste and may arrive earlier or later than the truck for single-stream materials (paper, cardboard, plastic, metal cans and glass bottles & jars).
April 3, 2010 - Household Hazardous Waste Collection Resumes
Household hazardous waste collection days resume at the Alpha Ridge Landfill on Saturdays only. Visit the Household hazardous waste website for a list of acceptable items and more information.
April 17, 2010 - Howard County GreenFest and Shredding Event
Mark your calendars for the 2010 GreenFest at the Howard County Community College. Hours are from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. The County will sponsor a FREE shredding event for residents. For more information, click here.
